New material in 3D can be suitable for making the plane and car, super-lightweight and stiff.


Researchers from Lawrence came out of Livermore back national laboratory (LLNL) and Massachusetts Institute of technology (MIT) has developed a material with other structures are the size and characteristics such as light, stiff and sure - can use in the field in 3D.

According to the description of the researchers, materials that they developed a form of super material (metamaterial) micro structure. This is synthetic materials have the properties of the materials that nature can be. It's kind of hard to remain on the density of the unit, even at very low level hardware ensuring it.

With the characteristic, the researchers hope that in the future it will be used to develop parts and components for airplanes, cars or spaceships through technology in 3D.

Super new materials could synthesize from metal, pottery and plastic. A material made from the structure of the polymer coating a pottery class will be one of the types of light in the world. It can help to block the weight heavier than 160,000 students watched weight of its own. LNLL says it more than 100 times stronger than the same material created in the past.

The team created this material by a stereolithographic printers. This technique is using laser hardener liquid materials to create the serial class until product completed, each layer thickness smallest can reach 0.06 mm so precisely. The demand for printer SLA do family will not be accurate to created new materials as scientists have done, because its structure to form a perfectly level microscope.​
